The Bank went public in 1993 and has grown both organically and through a series of acquisitions. Effective October 17, 2025, Flagstar Bank became the successor reporting company to its former holding company, Flagstar Financial, Inc., following an internal reorganization that eliminated the holding company structure and merged Flagstar Financial into the Bank.
